Description:

Ce fourgon à bestiaux américain se présente sous la forme d'un kit assez simple à assembler. Deux heures de travail au minimum seront malgré tout nécessaires pour terminer ce wagon sans le patiner.

J'ai peint le dessous ainsi que les bogies en noir matt (Humbrol # 33). Les bogies ont été ensuite patinés avec de la couleur rouille (Humbrol # 113). Des attelages Kadee No. 5 ont été utilisés, mais d'autres modèles peuvent convenir. Deux rondelles Kadee No. 208 sont nécessaires pour ajuster la hauteur des attelages.

Pour circuler sur les voies Märklin C et K, il suffit d'installer des roues Märklin # 320551 qui s'adaptent parfaitement aux bogies fournis avec le kit.

Si je n'avais pas patiné le wagon du Northern Pacific, j'ai par contre décidé donner une allure de "vécu" à celui du Great Northern.

Pour cela, j'ai utilisé la technique du "dry-brush" avec du Humbrol 113 et du "wash" avec un mélange de Humbrol 29 et 33 dilué en prenant comme référence le livre repris ci-dessous. J'ai aussi recouvert le toit ainsi que les parties en bois avec un vernis matt Humbrol # 49.

This American stock car comes as an easy to assemble kit. However at least two hours will be required to complete this car without weathering.

The underframe, the underboddy and both trucks were painted with Humbrol # 33 Matt Black. Trucks were then weathered with Humbrol # 113 Matt Rust paint. Kadee # 5 couplers were used but models from other makes can fit as well. Two Kadee # 208 washers are required to adjust coupler height.

Märklin wheels # 320551 have been installed on the trucks in order to have this nice car compatible with Märklin C and K tracks. These wheels fit very well on Proto 2000 trucks.

If I had not weathered my first car of Northern Pacific, I have gived a used look on my second-one of Great Northern.

I used a dry-brush technique with Humbrol # 113 and then a wash with a diluted mix of Humbrol # 29 and # 33 for the weathering. My reference was the book mentioned here under. I painted then a coat of Matt Varnish Humbrol # 49 on roof and wooden parts of the car.
